Sydney firm to open first US manufacturing base in Alabama
Advanced Navigation is establishing a Positioning, Navigation and Timing facility in Huntsville, Alabama. This helps it follow strict US defence rules.
The Sydney startup is backed by Labor's industry fund and former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull. On Tuesday it announced plans for a Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Centre of Excellence in Huntsville, Alabama.
The centre will sit alongside the Redstone Arsenal military base and NASA's Marshall Space facility. Advanced Navigation says the expansion helps it meet strict US defence supply rules.
These rules require local manufacturing.
