Beau Lamarre-Condon trial hears of fake flowers plot to deceive Jesse Baird
Lamarre-Condon bought flowers and staged a photo to cover a lie to Baird.
The murder trial of former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon revealed evidence he staged a photo to cover a lie. The lie was told to Jesse Baird, a Channel 10 journalist he briefly dated.
When Baird discovered the faked Instagram post showing flowers, he confronted Lamarre-Condon in a text. Lamarre-Condon spent $160 buying matching flowers and asked his mother to pose holding them.
He then sent the photo to a friend, claiming he wanted to "get his way out" of the situation. A NSW Police witness told the jury Lamarre-Condon later admitted to her: "I'm so in the wrong" about the lie.
Days after Baird ended their relationship, Lamarre-Condon texted the journalist with threatening words. He pleaded not guilty to the deaths of Baird and his partner Luke Davies in February 2024, arguing self-defence.
