Mazda's CX-6e electric SUV arrives at $53,990
Mazda launches mid-size electric SUV, priced below Tesla and positioned to grab a third of Australia's EV market.
Mazda has released the CX-6e, a mid-size electric SUV built with Chinese partner Changan, arriving in Australia months after the 6e sedan. The base model costs $53,990 before on-road costs, undercutting the Tesla Model Y ($58,900), BYD Sealion 7 ($54,990), and Zeekr 7X ($57,900).
The company projects annual sales of 12,000 units, which would make it Australia's third best-selling EV and Mazda's second best-selling model overall. The CX-6e features a 26.45-inch touchscreen, head-up display, and 23-speaker audio system.
Mazda was largely absent from Australia's EV market until the 6e arrived in July.
